Beginning in 1929, the U.S. government forcibly removed people of Mexican descent from the United States. In California, approximately 400,000 American citizens and residents of Mexican decent were deported to Mexico. Directed by Vicente Serrano, 2008. Learn more about these events during a screening of Vicente Serrano’s documentary, A Forgotten Injustice. Francisco Balderrama, Ph.D., co-author of Decade of Betrayal and Ph.D., Christine Valenciana, Assoc. Prof. Emeritus will be on hand for a conversation after the film, with Esperanza Sanchez, associate curator.
