Busy in Africa and Europe, Doc MacLean visits Canada less frequently, so don't miss this chance to see this iconic artist. He is legendary; one of the last of the true road warriors. Doc's new single, "Son House Died at Detroit" is play-listed on over 100 stations worldwide. Forty-five years ago Doc MacLean was playing Charlie Patton songs in Son House's living room. In recent years he's been touring across Africa with a battered National guitar - playing in places where things are burning by the side of the road; places where dreams mix with cold beer and red wine; places where joy and sorrow and life and death crowd every moment. On his “Secret Stories” Tour, Doc takes his listeners along on his unique, fifty year journey down the Blues Highway.
Doc began his career on the storied Flying Fish label out of Chicago. With his musical partner Colin Linden, he played, toured, and recorded with Sam Chatmon's Barbeque Boys, Blind John Davis, Little Brother Montgomery, Sunnyland Slim, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, and a host of others. Doc opened numerous shows for Muddy Waters, John Hammond, Jr., Johnny Winter, et al. A celebrated storyteller-songwriter in the delta tradition, Doc performs as many as 200 shows annually across Canada, United States, Ireland, and greater southern Africa
