Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

Introduces students to a career in medical services, prepares students for and places them in a medical office externship, and helps students find employment in a healthcare office. Clinical medical assistants combine clinical and procedural knowledge, working across the domain of healthcare facilities to aid inpatient treatments and clinical operations. They are tasked with working directly with patients and supporting the work of doctors and other health care professionals. This course will prepare you to work as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), designated by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Phlebotomy Technician 1

Phlebotomists are primarily responsible for the collection of blood specimens using standard techniques. This California-approved course includes lectures and a practical externship at a nearby site. The course covers lab protocols, the Patients’ Bill of Rights, HIPPA compliance, patient-based service care, and communication skills and includes a certification examination. Priority will be given to students who have completed prerequisites or are currently working in the medical field.
