Most events answer the question: What are we doing?
The Do Nothing Party answers: Nothing.
For one evening, the AllArtWorks Viewing Studio will become a temporary community dedicated to doing absolutely nothing.
Bring a chair. Or don’t.
That’s it.
There will be no program.
No speakers.
No performances.
No workshops.
No artist talk.
No networking session.
No ice breakers.
Sit.
Stand.
Talk.
Listen.
Look at art while contemplating nothing.
Drink.
Eat something.
Or simply exist.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chair—whether it’s a lawn chair, folding chair, office chair, recliner, bean bag, or something entirely unexpected. Together, the chairs become part of the evening and transform the gallery into a living installation.
The event is BYOB. Upon arrival, your beverages will be checked in with our Nothing Tender and returned to you throughout the evening upon request. After all, worrying about keeping your beer cold would be doing something.
The event schedule is simple.
6:00 PM — Nothing begins.
7:00 PM — Continued nothing.
8:00 PM — Nothing concludes.
The Do Nothing Party is a ticketed fundraiser benefiting the AllArtWorks Foundation. Proceeds support free community arts programming throughout the year and help us keep our doors open.
Don’t attend because there is something to do.
Attend because there isn’t.
