DO I SOUND: THE UNFOLDING OF BODIES, SPACE, AND TIME
A 9-hour durational performance

Sound-doing in the mode of performance can be understood as a situated and embodied practice in which sound is not simply an object to be heard, but an event that actively produces relations between bodies, spaces, temporalities, and modes of perception.
Do I Sound brings together performance artists and sound artists within a shared durational event. Within this performative framework, doing, listening, and presence are continually informed by the experience and perception of time and space. Sound and movement emerge through their relation to an unfolding situation, shaped by the temporary collectivity of bodies inhabiting a shared environment. The performance develops through the accumulation of acts, gestures, sounds, silences, movements, and encounters, without being directed towards a predetermined outcome.
No mode of participation is privileged or prescribed. Each occurrence remains contingent, ephemeral, and responsive to the shifting relations between bodies, materials, sounds, space, and time. The work therefore settles not into a fixed composition, but flows within an ongoing process through which the situation unfolds.
Do I Sound responds to the urgency of being present within a world marked by multiple and overlapping crises, uncertainties, and forms of instability. Rather than attempting to represent these conditions, the performance creates a space in which presence itself becomes a practice: an attentiveness to what is occurring and what might remain unresolved. Within the unfolding of the performance, the work stays open to emergence, developing through the continual interplay of doing and listening, action and receptivity.

„Do I Sound“ vereint Performancekünstler*innen und Klangkünstler*innen im Rahmen einer gemeinsamen Dauerperformance. Innerhalb dieses performativen Rahmens werden das Tun, das Zuhören und die Präsenz kontinuierlich durch die Erfahrung und Wahrnehmung von Zeit und Raum beeinflusst. Klang und Bewegung entstehen durch ihre Beziehung zu einem sich entfaltenden Prozess, der von der temporären Gemeinschaft von Körpern geprägt ist, die sich in einer gemeinsamen Umgebung begegnen. Die Performance entwickelt sich durch die Akkumulation von Akten, Gesten, Klängen, Stille, Bewegungen und Begegnungen, ohne auf ein vorab festgelegtes Ziel ausgerichtet zu sein.

Anstatt zu versuchen, diese Zustand darzustellen, schafft die Performance einen Raum, in dem Präsenz selbst zur Praxis wird: eine Achtsamkeit gegenüber dem, was geschieht, und dem, was möglicherweise ungelöst bleibt.
