Friday Jan 2nd 2026.Grand Chief Imam Of Somolu
ALHAJI BOONYAMIN DABIRI
In his powerful Jumu’ah sermon, Chief Imam Dabiri addressed a critical but often neglected topic in our modern society the importance of knowing one’s origin and preserving family identity in Islam.
He explained that Islam strongly emphasizes lineage (nasab), encouraging every individual to know their roots, race, and family history.
This is not tribalism, but a means of preserving truth, responsibility, and justice, as supported by the Qur’an and authentic Hadith.
Imam Dabiri highlighted why, in today’s world, DNA testing can be a necessary tool to prevent confusion, deception, and injustice
especially in matters of paternity, inheritance, and identity. Islam stands firmly against false claims of lineage.
He stressed that:
It is forbidden in Islam for a woman to bring a child that does not belong to her husband into his family.
No child should knowingly claim another man as their biological father.
Men must be mindful of their actions and take full responsibility for the children they bring into the world.
Every child has the right to know their true biological origin.
The sermon was a reminder that truth protects families, and clarity preserves generations.
Islam promotes responsibility, accountability, and honesty — even when it is uncomfortable.
Like, share, and comment to spread this important message and spark healthy conversations in our communities.
