Deverin "DK" King is a 2022 Central High School graduate who has been gifted with amazing focus and Student-Athletic ability. He gave his all and excelled in both acedemics and any sport he participated in such as Basketball and Track.
Running the Hurdles were his true passion as he broke two school records at Pershing Middle School. Competed and placed 6th in the 2018 Junior National Olympics in the 200m hurdles.
While attending Central he set a new 300m hurdle record as a Junior that had stood for 41 years. In his Senior year, he reset that record at the Missouri State High School Track meet with a top 7 finish.
Due to his hard work and efforts, Deverin earned both Track and academic scholarships to Evangel University. Deverin was an outstanding Student Athlete, competitor and supportive teammate. Most importantly, Deverin was a caring, patient and kind young man who loved both his friends and family fiercely and with his whole heart.
This memorial track meet in honor of Deverin will help fund Deverin's Locker Fund with Ambassadors for Children. Deverin's Locker is a fund that will help provide School aged children with new & used sporting equipment and sports fees who may face financial barriers.
