David Greenfield, aka DJ SID PRESLEY, spins the music of the late 1950's through the 1960's, including British Invasion beat, surf and exotica instrumentals, groovy mod pop, greasy rhythm and blues, raw garage rockers, and much, much more. An evening with DJ Sid guarantees sounds geared to dancing, drinking and excitement. His carefully-curated sets are packed full of both ear-opening rarities and crowd-pleasing ravers. And it’s all vinyl, all the time!
DJ Sid also specializes in collecting 60’s S.E. Asian vinyl. In 2010 he compiled the well-regarded CD release LET’S A GO-GO! SINGAPORE AND SE ASIA POP SCENE 1964-69, which showcased rare pop music from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
DJ Sid has dee-jayed at The Elbo Room (SF), Artistry (Singapore), Tiki Oasis (San Diego), Whisky A Go Go (Hollywood), Echoplex (LA), Burger Boogaloo (Oakland), The Golden Tiki (Las Vegas), Alex's Bar (Long Beach), Redwood Bar (Los Angeles), The Chapel (SF), Regency Ballroom (SF), Winters Tavern (Pacifica), Oakland Museum of California (Oakland), The New Parish (Oakland), and many more. He also organizes live surf, garage, punk, and 60’s-themed concerts in the Bay Area, including the ROCK AND ROLL FLEA MARKETS in various Bay Area cities. He has joined forces with international touring acts including The Damned, The Flamin’ Groovies, Shonen Knife, CJ Ramone,The Chocolate Watchband, El Vez & Rosie Flores, Palmyra Delran, The Outta Sites, Slacktone, Roy Loney & The Phantom Movers, The Phantom Surfers, The Kilaueas, Jello Biafra, Joe "King" Carrasco, Davie Allan & The Arrows, The Electric Prunes, The Shadows of Knight, The Blasters, 45 Spider, and more.
