Two DJs for twice the tunes this week: come for DJ Read (Read Fenton), stay for DJ Lazamataz (Laz Savic)!This week happy birthday to cornetist Rex Stewart, born February 22, 1907! Rex spent 11 years in Duke Ellington's band, and also played with Fletcher Henderson before fronting his own small combos. From the 50s he wrote extensively as a jazz critic for radio and TV - you can borrow his book Jazz Masters Of the 30s in our own jazz library at Rhythm City!
ADMISSION
• FREE for Intro to Swing students • $5 for all other RCP students
• $10 at the door. No one turned away for lack of funds.
• Free admission if you've never danced before - bring your friends!
• Volunteers always dance for free, sign up for a shift at the door!
