LoveAlwaysLLC, in collaboration with ArtsReach, is proud to present a transformative 4-week DJing masterclass hosted by the renowned DJ Always. This immersive program aims to introduce up to 15 passionate individuals to the fundamentals of DJing, culminating in the creation of a collaborative mix that will be shared with the public, showcasing the skills honed during the masterclass.
June 3: The Power and Significance of Music
In the inaugural week, students will delve into the profound impact of music on daily life. They will explore the art and science of sequencing music, considering crucial factors such as tempo, key, subject matter, genre, and lyrics. Understanding the importance of these elements, students will collaboratively create playlists, laying the foundation for their personal mixes.
June 10: Mastering DJ Equipment
Building on their newfound knowledge, week two will equip students with the technical expertise needed in DJing. They will learn the mechanics of DJ equipment, from connecting audio cords to interfacing with controllers/mixers. Additionally, students will grasp essential skills such as equalizing music, setting sound, cueing songs, and seamlessly blending transitions.
June 17: Hands-On Practice with Guest Instructors
In week three, students will be divided into four groups, each working with an individual turntable/controller. They will receive hands-on instruction from esteemed guest instructors – Kym Williams, Michael Robinson, and Jeremy Harris. This immersive experience will empower students to refine their blending techniques, ensuring a high level of proficiency.
June 24: Final Production and Showcase
The culmination of the masterclass will see students recording, mixing, and adding voiceovers to their individual projects. The result, titled "For The Love Of DJING," will be a testament to their journey throughout the masterclass. The final production will be showcased to the public, celebrating the artistic growth and collaborative spirit fostered during this transformative 4-week program.
This masterclass aims to leave a lasting impact on participants, empowering them to pursue their passion for DJing and contribute to the vibrant world of music.
