DJ HOT WHEELS HOTEL WARMING PARTY
Holy shit. I live at the pub now.
I didn’t plan on living the pub.
In my whole long life it’s never even been the slightest consideration.
And then a situation occurred.
I needed a new housing situation.
From the act of thinking about it to the act of holding a door key to my room at the Stingo all happened within 24 hours.
Which was crazy. And although it may be a naff expression, it genuinely felt meant to be. Because so many other factors had to fall into place to make this happen and then they did. I didn’t plan on living at the pub but it felt like the pub planned on having me live there.
My International Professional colleague Ben Mastwyk and I stumbled in their one fateful day. And I won the Meat Tray raffle the very first night I was there.
I’ve been a vegetarian for 40 years and yet, it felt like I had just a won a new car. I was completely ecstatic. (And of course my non vegetarian mates were only too thrilled to take my win home with them.)
In a very short space of time I felt a strong gravitational pull to the Stingo, which I had never felt with any pub before.
Contrary to what most would expect, even though as part of my DJ and event hosting work I am in pubs a lot, I have never really been the guy who hangs out in them in a lot unless I’m working.
But this one just felt different, in ways that are hard to define.
The decision to secure my room at the Stingo initially felt like the perfect temporary solution to a housing problem. Just until I worked out my next move.
But I only needed to spend one day there until it didn’t feel temporary anymore, it just felt like a place a to call my home, until I don’t.
Right now it feels like such a perfect fit.
So to celebrate my new found life as a Stingo resident and as part of me wanting to give something back to the pub who offered me a lifeline when I needed it, you are ALL invited to the Hot Wheels Hotel Warming Party.
And when I say ALL of you I mean it.
Everybody is welcome.
For entertainment we’ll have DJ’s, live music, (including a live performance by my new band Zeitghost with Ben Mastwyk), karaoke and some surprises too.
Starts at 2pm and finishes at 1am.
And it’s all FREE!
