DJ Classes for Children!

Just for kids! Learn how to DJ in a fun, safe & supportive environment. Hosted by the brand For A Girl Global, these classes were designed with this belief in mind: We believe that being able to learn, ask questions and make mistakes in a safe environment maintains focus, boosts confidence and accelerates the education process!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

• Brief history of DJing
• Music styles
• Counting music
• DJ equipment basics
• DJ software basics
• Song structure
• Beats and bars
• Cue points
• Beatmatching
• BPM - Beats per minute
• "3 Cardinal rules of DJing"
• 3 most common transitions / mixing techniques
• Crossfader
• Basic FX (effects)

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

• Professional Studio Space
• Instructor: Seasoned DJ & Business Professional
• Hands-on instruction in small workshop setting
• Professional DJ equipment
• Headphones
• Resources - Software & Hardware recommendations
• Local Resources for hardware & accessories
• “Cheat Sheets” - common terms, etc.
• Light snacks and water/soft drinks
• Opportunity for questions with instructor
• Opportunity for practice time (separate from workshop)

WHAT’S NEEDED (once scheduled, we can go through this in more detail):

• Laptop with free version of Serato DJ lite loaded
• Adapter for laptop, if needed
• A few songs to practice with
• Headphones, if you don’t want to use studio set

IMPORTANT!!

• Parents or Guardians will be required to sign a Waiver / Authorization Form at the beginning of every class.
• Parents or Guardians are required to stay with student for the duration of the class.
• All communications are between Instructor and Parent/Guardian. Please do not have your child text, call or contact me on social media.

In March 2024, DJ SkyyWalker and her brand For A Girl Global launched DJ classes for women and children. In June, several students graduated during a celebratory showcase. Since then, major changes commenced!
