DIY Postcards/Art at the Matheson BYO Art Supplies
Schedule
Sat Jun 27 2026 at 11:00 am to 02:00 pm
UTC-04:00Location
Matheson History Museum | Gainesville, FL
The intention is to learn a bit about Alachua county history, support our local museums, and draw/write while we are there. The event is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on June 27th. Artists of all kinds are welcome (drawing, writing, and collage). Bring your own art supplies. The club will be providing blank post cards (for free) or cards of watercolor paper for you to illustrate your own art inspired by the exhibits. We will also have glue sticks and pencils to borrow. There will be vintage post cards for sale by the museum. There is no entrance fee to the museum, but donations to the museum are welcome as we would like to support this cool Gainesville institution.
Accessibility note: This event is handicapped accessible and has a parking lot nearby with handicapped accessible spots, the building is air conditioned, and everyone is welcome to bring a portable stool or lawn chair. All ages are welcome but children will need to have a responsible adult accompany them.
If you are interested in local adventures, live drawing and nature, we have trips at a minimum of once a month on the 4th weekend of the month. Follow our page to keep ip to date! Hope to see you soon!
