Milkweed, specifically the fluff inside its seed pods, can be used as a natural and effective Firestarter. The fluff, often referred to as milkweed silk, is highly flammable and can be easily ignitedwith a spark, even from flint and steel.
Indiana Master Naturalist and Coast Guard veteran, Diego Cicero, will demonstrate how to make these all natural fire starters from foraged and scrap materials.
The program is free, however pre-registration is required. Please sign up by October 1
