Diwali and Govardhan Puja Festival
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, marks the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. It is a time of joy, togetherness, and spiritual reflection. Govardhan Puja, celebrated the day after Diwali, commemorates Lord Krishna’s divine pastime of lifting Govardhan Hill to protect the residents of Vrindavan, teaching us the importance of faith, love, and protection of the Earth.
We invite you to immerse yourself in this special festival filled with vibrant devotion and spiritual energy. The evening will feature:
Program Highlights:
Soul-Stirring Kirtan: Lift your spirits and chant the holy names in a joyous and heart-melting kirtan.
Enlightening Class: Hear about the significance of Diwali and Govardhan Puja through captivating stories from the pastimes of Lord Krishna.
Govardhan Circumbulation: Join us as we circumambulate a replica of Govardhan Hill, just as the residents of Vrindavan did in honor of Lord Krishna.
Lamp Offering & Damodarashtakam: Offer lamps to Lord Damodara (Krishna) during the beautiful rendition of Damodarashtakam, a hymn that glorifies the Lord’s boundless mercy and charm.
Sumptuous Prasadam Feast: End the evening with a delicious vegetarian meal, lovingly prepared and offered to the Lord, for everyone to relish.
