Part personal memoir, part guidebook, Achea uses Divorcing Religion, Finding God to explore her own experience of religious trauma in the Black Apostolic church and the stories of other religious trauma survivors, to provide background and context for what is ultimately a story of healing and identity.
Hosted at The Junto, this experience begins with an intimate, moderated panel conversation exploring the deeper themes behind Achea’s work, inviting guests into an honest dialogue around identity, healing, and what it means to reclaim your story.
This is more than a book launch. It is a space for reflection, connection, and shared understanding. Through guided conversation, audience engagement, and personal insights from Achea and featured panelists, you’ll gain a deeper look into the ideas shaping this important work and the broader conversations it sparks.
Following the panel, guests are invited to continue the evening at The Brass Eye rooftop, where the energy shifts into celebration. Enjoy cocktails, music, and meaningful connection as we celebrate and honor not just the book, but the journey, community, and conversations behind it.
