Diving Medical Responder (DMR) is a comprehensive diving emergency medical management course that will prepare you to respond in the event of an emergency.
The DMR is 40 hours, meeting twice a week for 4 weeks, 4 hours per evening. The final class day is a Saturday and is an 8 hour day.
You will learn the fundamentals of patient assessment, oxygen delivery, airway management, diving physics, diving physiology, CPR, and much more. The final day of class is all practical assessments, scenarios, and drills conducted on land and in the pool.
Hands on skill development includes IV therapy, advanced airway, patient assessment, needle decompression, oxygen administration, and much more.
Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the NREMT Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification. This is a national level certification and recognized in many states as the entry level EMS certification.
Public Safety Dive Teams, Scuba Instructors, Dive Masters, Boat Captains, Paramedics, EMTs, and anyone wanting a strong foundation in diving accident management should attend this course.
Scuba Instructors and Dive Masters are eligible for DAN Instructor. All 4 modules of the DAN Course, DAN DEMP, and DAN DFA PRO will be covered and will require additional coursework which can be completed during the DMR course. DAN Instructor will also require $125 payment to Divers Alert Network for Instructor processing. This is the most comprehensive DAN Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) available.
