Divest Now! Campaign Meeting in Walthamstow

At this meeting we will plan crucial next steps in our Divest Now! campaign. We will guide the meeting with an agenda and breakout groups to plan our next actions ahead of the next pensions committee meeting on 25th June, and discuss our strategy ahead of the local election in May next year. Everyone is encouraged to contribute in a way that works for them.

Thanks to the ongoing campaigning of local residents, we've seen big wins in Waltham Forest, including the council's agreement to fully divest from the arms trade. HOWEVER, there is still much more work to do, as the council still has investments in companies complicit in human rights abuses in Palestine. Despite promises to review these investments, both the council and the London Collective Investment Vehicle (LCIV) appear to be sidestepping responsibility—strategic pressure is needed, now more than ever to hold them accountable.

Venue Info

The Garden Room in the Walthamstow Quaker Meeting House seats up to 40 people. As it is not a large venue we would appreciate it if you could return your ticket and let the organiser know if you can no longer make it.

Access

The Garden Room has step-free access from the street, there is a ground-floor toilet with a lift available to upstairs disabled toilet. There is also a kitchen with ground-floor access. If you have any questions or a request for something that would make it easier for you to attend the meeting, such as translation, please email walthamforestforpalestine@gmail.com and we will do our best to provide it.
