In this improvisation-based dance class, we will explore how the body’s qualities, emotional states, and imagination can interact to give life to moving, ever-changing characters.
The class begins with a non-stop 50-minute guided improvisation session, where each body is invited to listen, feel, and and open to new and unexpected pathways of movement.
Through images and physical sensations, we will explore different movement qualities to connect with the most intuitive and inventive part of ourselves — the place where physical performance meets imagination.
In the final part of the class, the physical body is invited to become a performer: we will use the tools developed during the improvisation session to enter a more personal process of research and composition around movement identities.
We will explore how each gesture reflects both a physical and emotional state within an imagined context.
The body — never separate from its story or its inner world — becomes dramatic material, a space for transformation and play. Sometimes moving alone, sometimes in dialogue with others.

TEACHER'S BIO :
Silvia Pezzarossi is an Italian-born, Brussels-based choreographer and dancer whose work bridges contemporary dance and physical theatre. Trained at the Ballet Junior de Genève and Modem/Cie Zappalà Danza, she has collaborated with Roy Assaf, Lies Serdons, Roberto Zappalà, Poetic Punkers and recently with the belgian circus company Les Chaussons Rouges. Her work explores the tension between instinct and structure, creating a raw, image-based dance where imagination and emotion give life to imperfect, deeply human characters.
Alongside her artistic work, she teaches DIVE, an improvisation practice influenced by Gaga, which she studied through classes and workshops with Ohad Naharin and the Batsheva Dancers.
Silvia teaches DIVE at : Charleroi Danse, UP circus & Performing Arts, Nyash Dance Company, Hybrid Studio, Istanbul Fringe Festival in Turkey, Dance Days Chania Festival and Kinitira Young Company in Greece.
