The 2026 election is closer than it feels, and the decisions on the ballot will shape health, housing, food access, and safety net programs for Black San Franciscans for years to come.

Join us for the first event in AACHEC's Fall Civic Engagement Teach-In Series: a nonpartisan, community-centered conversation about what's changing and what it means for you.

We'll break down -- in plain language -- what's on the ballot, what's shifting in Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and federal housing programs, and what community members can do right now to make their voices heard.

This isn't a campaign event. It's information you need, from people you trust.

What we'll cover:

• Key ballot measures in the November 2026 election
• Recent and pending changes to Medi-Cal and Medicaid
• SNAP and CalFresh: what's at stake for food access
• Housing and safety-net policy shifts at the local, state, and federal level
• How to connect with Black health equity advocacy in San Francisco

This teach-in is hosted by the African American Community Health Equity Council (AACHEC), convened by Rafiki Coalition for Health and Wellness. AACHEC is a Black-led community table dedicated to centering Black voices in San Francisco's health policy and political life.
