Join us for the third Distil Meet-Up of the 2026/2027 series at the Scottish Music Centre, Glasgow, focusing on composition with Ailie Robertson.
Ailie Robertson is a multi-award winning composer and harpist from Scotland. She has been commissioned by some of the world's most prestigious cultural institutions including the BBC Proms, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, Red Note, Bang on a Can, and the RSNO. Winner of the 'Achievement in New Music' prize at the inaugural Scottish Awards for New Music, Ailie holds a PhD in composition from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Her work ranges from concert music and film scores to site-specific installations, and she brings a passion for writing for amateurs, young people, and the theatre.
This session is designed for both learning and informal discussion, where you can explore new approaches to composition and connect with fellow musicians. Perfect for Distil alumni and musicians interested in developing their compositional practice.
