Coming up at Dickens on September 21, 2024, the return of Display of Decay and Vaegon. Display of Decay and Vaegon slayed us at Dickens in the fall of 2023. Anyone at that show, knows what a stellar night it was. We get to do it all over again in September and have the added excitement of The Myopia Condition and Cabrakaän joining the bill.
Display of Decay
Formed in 2007, Display of Decay is widely noted for bringing a unique blend of old-school death metal, with tinges of thrash and doom metal. Drawing inspiration from the early death metal pioneers like Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, and Cryptopsy, Display of Decay's latest album Vitriol pays homage to the genre's brutal and aggressive roots while infusing their unique sickness into the mix. Hailing from Edmonton, the band has spread their infection across Canada, sharing the stage alongside other elite acts such as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, Origin, Beyond Creation & more.

Vaegon
Vaegon is a Technical Death Metal band based out of Edmonton, Alberta formed in late 2021. They are currently on their Particle Eclipse Canada Tour. Vaegon released their highly accredited debut EP “The Particle Eclipse” in July of 2023 with many reviews citing the skillful progression, brutal groove, and rich melodies throughout the music.

The Myopia Condition
The Myopia Condition is a Progressive Death Metal band from Red Deer, AB. Intense tech drumming coupled with rhythmic guitar chaos topped off with brutal death metal vocals.

Cabrakaän
Cabrakaän is a Mexican Canadian band based in Calgary. Originally formed in Mexico in 2011, the band performed at a Canadian music festival in 2017 and decided to call Canada home. Their music is a mix of death, folk, and symphonic European metal influences with Pre-hispanic instruments, along with the storytelling of Mesoamerican mythologies (Aztec, Mayan, Tlaxcaltecan, Olmecan) plus Mexican folklore such as La llorona, La Bruja and Day of The Dead. Cabrakaän features both clean and guttral, death metal style vocals. You do not want to miss this truly unique band.
