Display of Decay (EP Release) w/ Brain Stem, Ditchpisser, Santorum

The official release party for Display of Decay's 7th record 'Desolate Dawn Pt 1' is officially among us! Drawing power from the adversities leading up to the release of Vitriol in 2023, DOD dialed in as a group, sharpening every section of every song to fully command the “death groove” sound they've been known for.

Drawing inspiration from the early death metal pioneers like Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, and Cryptopsy, Display of Decay has crafted an album that pays homage to the brutal and aggressive roots of the genre while infusing their own unique sickness into the mix. Formed in 2007, Display of Decay is widely noted for bringing a unique blend of old-school death metal, with tinges of thrash and doom metal. Hailing from Edmonton, the band has spread their infection across North America, sharing the stage alongside other elite acts such as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, Origin, Beyond Creation & more.

Brain Stem

Brain Stem is an experimental death metal band from Edmonton, Alberta, known for weaving together crushing riffs, dynamic songwriting, and unsettling atmosphere into something distinctly their own. Formed in 2016, the band set out to fuse their wide range of influences without limitations — building songs that shift seamlessly from relentless heaviness to groovy, immersive passages, always pushing beyond traditional death metal formulas.

Ditchpisser

DitchPisser is a filth metal band formed in 2023 by Cyn Mercredi, who dragged the idea out of the gutter and into reality with first official recruit Sheldon Leung. Aaron Corris and Will Bigcrow soon joined the chaos, with Brandon Tremblay stepping in as the final ingredient in the mix.

With members stationed in Edmonton, Calgary, and Fernie, DitchPisser blends razor-sharp musicianship with completely unhinged lyrical themes. The songs are fast, tight, and technically dialed, even when the subject matter is proudly ridiculous.

Their debut single, Blood Clot Glue (October 2024), introduced a band that refuses to choose between skill and stupidity. They play like pros. They write like degenerates. And somehow, it works.

Santorum (EP RELEASE)

Septic old school death metal digested from the bowels of Edmonton, Santorum blends mosh inducing groove with frenetic uncertainty. Through our music and lyricism, we look to recapture the essence of the original legends who paved the way for everybody to follow in their footsteps, whilst adding our own pernicious balance to the mix, bringing a vibrant blend of old and new into a catchy display of modern death metal debauchery.
