Interfaith Glasgow and St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art invite you to the next event in our Faith to Faith dialogue series.
Many of the world’s great faiths attach deep significance to the symbolic and spiritual role of light in their rituals and worship. As we continue to travel from the darkness of winter into the glorious dawn and reawakening of spring, we invite you to listen to three speakers from the Druid, Hindu and Christian faith traditions who will each share examples of the importance of light in their own faith traditions. Our speakers will focus on the festivals of light celebrated in February including Imbolc, Candlemas, and Vasant Panchami.
Join us to learn about these fascinating ritual ceremonies steeped in mystery and meaning. Meet people from diverse backgrounds and share your reflections together in an informal dialogue.
People of all faiths and none are welcome!
Speakers:
Linda Haggerstone - "Imbolc: a Druid Perspective on Dispelling the Darkness"
Avi Lago - “Mother of Light and Sound: Understanding the Goddess in Spring”
John Reuben Davies - “The Light of Christ - The meaning of light in key Christian festivals”
