Disney Lorcana TCG Release Weekend at Geek Retreat Birmingham!Calling all budding Illumineers! We’re excited and honoured to be a part of the early release of Disney’s Lorcana Trading Card Game!
To celebrate the release we’ll be running a series of events over the Launch Weekend. We’ll also be heavily supporting Lorcana going forward with weekly events. Hope to see you soon!
We’ve also been accepted as an Official Lorcana Organised Play store meaning we’ll have exclusive promotional items to give out at our events!
Here’s what we have planned for August 18th-20th:
ALL WEEKEND - We’ll have a dedicated Lorcana Demo Table set up all weekend. If you’re interested in learning how to play let us know and one of the staff will run you through a quick game.
Demo table sessions:
FRIDAY from 12.30pm
SATURDAY from 12pm
SUNDAY from 12pm
(Please note there may be short periods of time where the demo table is unavailable whilst our amazing volunteers take a short break. We will do our very best to accommodate everyone that wants to learn this magical game).
FRIDAY 12pm
Doors Open and you’re able to pick up your Pre-Orders as well as any stock that has made it to the shelves. You’re more than welcome to sit in store and open packs, sort through your new collection or play some games. We’re excited to see what everyone gets!
ALL WEEKEND - COSTUME COMPETITION
Come dressed as your favourite Disney character, ask a member of staff to snap a photo of you, and we'll post all photos online for people to vote for their favourites.
Winners will receive a free milkshake and a booster pack on their next visit.
FRIDAY - STARTER DECK EVENT - 6-9pm
Pick up one of the 3 Starter Decks in store and play with the pre-constructed deck right out the box. This event is perfect for players who are new to Trading Card Games or are just looking to dip their toes in to see if Lorcana is for them.
SATURDAY KIDS CLUB - 11am-1pm
Play some fun games, relax and meet new friends. New players are very welcome and staff will be on hand to help out to teach how to play.
SATURDAY - CONSTRUCTED - 3-6pm
Here you’ll be able to play with the full collection of cards that you have. This event is for players who want to dive deep into Lorcana from the get go and are already familiar with the rules.
All Friday and Saturday events are FREE to enter as a special promotion. There will be some cool promotional items! Main focus is on fun, meeting new friends and trying out this great new game!
After this we’ll be running Lorcana events every week on Wednesday from 6pm-9pm for Adults. £6 Entry, Includes a Booster Pack.
Kids Club will be every Saturday from 11am-1pm for under 16s. £6 Entry, Includes a Booster Pack.
We’ll have some spare decks available in store for new players to borrow and try out.

Another chance to see which starter deck comes out on top!

Booking is not required, and only half of our available seats for each event will be available to pre-book, the rest will remain open for walk-ins. We will do our best to accommodate as many players as possible.
