DiSH Virtual Fireside Chat

Manchester City Council has selected a consortium led by Barclays Eagle Labs to operate the Greater Manchester Digital Security Hub (), a new dedicated proposition to help drive innovation and growth in Greater Manchester and the wider UK’s digital and cyber security sectors.

This Fireside Chat will hear from Barclays, Lancaster University ,Plexal and University of Manchester about the opportunity for the digital security industry across Greater Manchester, and how DiSH MCR will be supporting with business growth and individual skills generation.

David Bleakman

Barclays

David is the Digital Security & Cyber Industry Lead for Barclays Eagle Labs, creating programmes and connections to support corporates and start-ups across the industry.

Jon Lomas

Lancaster University

Jon leads Lancaster University’s Secure Digitalisation programme and wider activities at DiSH. Jon is also actively supporting the development of skills and education provision across Greater Manchester and creating links between the academic, corporate and business communities.

Stuart Nelson

Plexal

Stuart is the Innovation Associate from Plexal, supporting cohorts within DISH by delivering the digital security innovation programmes to support startup & SME growth and acceleration. Stuart has an academic background with 4 years of cyber security education and is keen to apply his learning in supporting startups to scale their business.

Seonaid Lafferty

University of Manchester

Seonaid is a Cyber Ecosystem Project Manager at the University of Manchester. Seonaid’s specialisation is in social impact and sustainability, which she applies to work collaboratively with SMEs support secure innovation that nurtures a supportive digital community in the NW. Seonaid is part of the Digital Futures Research Platform team at University of Manchester, making sure that academic research - and the academics themselves - are accessible and the knowledge applied for impact on growth and sustainability.
