Discussion with Nicholas Enrich, author of Into the Wood Chipper

The Minnesota International NGO Network (MINN) is excited to host a public discussion with Nicholas Enrich, author of the New York Times best-selling book Into the Wood Chipper: A Whistleblower's Account of How the Trump Administration Shredded USAID. The discussion will be moderated by V. Kate Somvongsiri, current adjunct faculty at the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a former USAID Senior Foreign Service member who served as Mission Director in Pakistan and Tanzania.
About the author: Nicholas Enrich is a former civil servant who worked at USAID under four administrations. He served as the Bureau of Global Health’s director of policy, programs, and planning until January 2025, when he was designated as USAID’s acting assistant administrator for global health. On March 2, 2025, he was placed on administrative leave for exposing the Trump administration’s illegitimate and dangerous dismantling of USAID.
Following the event at the Minneapolis Central Library, attendees are invited to continue the discussion at Sociable Cider Werks (West Taproom) where MINN will be hosting a happy hour from 5:00-7:00 PM.
