The SAG-AFTRA Hawai'i Local cordially invites you to a morning of education, conversation, and community.
Join your fellow members for a unique opportunity to connect and grow. We are hosting a targeted session focused on the experiences and advancement of Hawaiian and Local actors, followed by a headline ’Ōlelo acting workshop led by Chief of War actor Ioane Goodhue.
This event is a dedicated safe space to discuss the future of Hawaiian and Local representation in the media, and sharpen your craft through the power of language.
What to Expect:
Actors & Community Discussion: An open dialogue on the unique challenges and opportunities for our Hawaiian and Local performers. We’ll discuss the importance of authentic representation, the growth of the local creative community, and how SAG-AFTRA can better support our members.
’Ōlelo Acting Workshop: Step into the craft with Ioane Goodhue. This hands-on exercise will focus on performance techniques and the integration of ’Ōlelo Hawaii, offering professional insights from Ioane’s experience on major productions.
Building Our Community: Connect with your peers in a supportive environment. This is a time to share stories, swap advice, and strengthen the bonds that make our Hawaii Local unique.
