Campers will learn about master artists, while learning skills and components to create artwork styled like them. Vincent van Gogh will explore his bold colors, dramatic, and impulsive brushwork. Salvador Dalí will investigate his iconic surrealist paintings. Rembrandt van Rijn, regarded as the greatest artist of Holland's “Golden Age,” will travel into the mind of this prolific painter, draftsman, and etcher. Frida Kahlo’s powerful defiance of norms of symbolic self-portraits will explore identity, pain, and Mexican culture. Andy Warhol will investigate his “Pop Art” techniques using bright colors, repetition, and celebrity/consumer imagery, creating works inspired by his iconic style. Fun Day Friday: Campers will select their favorite artist of the week and make a 3D replica using different textured mediums. This work will be on display at the Arts Center for the remainder of summer camp.
