Explore the park after dark!Join a ranger on a 1 mile hike of Turks Cap trail. Discover what nocturnal animals call Goose Island home! We'll have a limited supply of UV black lights for scorpion spotting.
Meet: Turks Trail parking lot near Warbler Way and Youth Group Area.
Bring: water, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes, and a Red or UV light. We'll use UV lights to spot scorpions! We will NOT use regular flashlights until the END of the program.
Length: About 1 mile
Difficulty: Easy
*Note: We recommend wearing long sleeves and pants to help with mosquitoes.
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Groups larger than eight please contact Ranger Sara for a private event ([email protected])
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
