Discover Your Gameplan: Teaching the Economics of Sports

The Kansas Council for Economic Education, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and the Center for Economic Education at Wichita State University is pleased to invite you to join us.

This workshop is designed for teachers of economics, personal finance, business, social studies, family and consumer science and career and tech education. Get access to plug-and-play lessons that will transform game-day information into rigorous learning experiences for your students. We will explore curricula tied to markets, incentives, and decisions shaping the sports industry, as well as public financing of arenas and trade-offs for taxpayers and franchise owners. Gain insights into the world of sports and enrich your teaching with materials that connect it to everyday economics

These workshops offer:

• Graduate Credit from Wichita State for those who qualify
• Meals (breakfast/lunch) and snacks
• Hands-on, standards-based lesson plans and supplemental materials

Your $20 registration fee will be refunded in full on-site upon completion of the workshop.

Graduate credit is available from WSU for one credit hour (additional work outside the workshop will be necessary to complete credit requirement).
