Day 1
Key Note Speaker
Alan Morgan, National Rural Health Association
Recognized as among the “Top 100 Most Influential” in health care by the Modern Healthcare Magazine, Mr. Morgan, NRHA’s CEO, will address today’s rural health care landscape from his perspective and how telehealth has impacted the delivery of care throughout the COVID pandemic. A proponent of leveraging technology for the good of rural citizens and health care entities, his message includes that telehealth must not come to rural health communities at the expense of creating competition between remote and local clinicians.
Key Note Panel
Eric Wallace, MD, UAB Medical Director of Telehealth
Suleima Salgado, Telemedicine & Rural Health Initiatives Director, Georgia Department of Public Health
Changes in the way that health care was delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic occurred to reduce staff and patient exposure to sick people, preserve personal protective equipment (PPE), and minimize the impact of patient surges on facilities. How well did physicians and patients adapt to virtual care? This panel will present answers as well as thoughts about winding up 2021 and preparing for 2022.
