About this Event
Title: Factories in the Sky: Building the Space Economy One Payload at a Time
Abstract: What if the next blockbuster medical device was manufactured not in a cleanroom on Earth, but in orbit? Ecoatoms is turning that vision into reality by designing automated payload, small "habitats" that transform any spacecraft into a cutting-edge manufacturing lab. In this talk, CEO Dr. Solange Massa will share the exciting story of real missions like A.R.E.S. on Blue Origin’s NS rocket, where hundreds of biosensors were coated in microgravity, L.E.T.O. on a SpaceX orbital rideshare to test lunar biological resilience, and the upcoming H.E.R.M.E.S. for automated DNA processing, demonstrating how space enables unique processes and payloads with unmatched performance. Students will discover how plummeting launch costs and intelligent automation are democratizing space research, making it possible for universities, startups, and young innovators to fly their own experiments. The space economy isn’t reserved for astronauts anymore; it’s wide open for bold coders, engineers, and dreamers ready to invent tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
