Come and join us for a day out discovering Newmarket – tours of the gallops and the National Stud, lunch and entry to the National Horseracing Museum.Booking link: https://buytickets.at/bhseastregion/1333575
The day starts at 8am but there is an option to join us at 9am if you prefer.
Park in the All Saints Car Park (CB8 8ET £3 all day) and meet the tour guides and mini buses outside the front of the museum to go to the gallops for a one hour tour followed by a 90 minute tour of the National Stud.
Or skip the trip to the gallops and join us at 9am as the mini buses return from the gallops on the way to the Stud. Parking in the same place.
After the tour of the stud, we will all return to the National Horseracing Museum for 11.30am to wander at will, exploring the many fascinating exhibits, meeting for lunch at 1pm in the Tack Room. There is a choice of lunch options on the booking form. You can then continue exploring the museum for the rest of the day if you wish - why not join the Retraining of Racehorses tour at 2.30pm in the Rothschild Yard?
The 500-acre stud farm has a wonderful history and is home to resident stallions, including Stradivarius, and ex-racehorse legends such as Lord Windermere and The Tin Man. Meet the visiting mares and their foals and find out what goes on behind the scenes in making potential future champions of the turf. Please note that as a working stud the physical content of the tours varies throughout the year, depending on the season and the activities happening on the stud when you visit.
The National Horse Racing Museum is a 5-acre site in the heart of Newmarket. It comprises three complementary attractions: National Horseracing Museum in the Trainer’s House and King’s Yard Galleries; Packard Galleries of British Sporting Art in Palace House, and a chance to meet former racehorses in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses.
Tickets are priced at £40 each (adults and children aged 14 and older) but we are offering priority and early bird discounted rates:
BHS members priority booking (for themselves and any guests they book) at £35 until Saturday 31 August.
Early bird tickets open to all are the same discounted price of £35 after that date until Saturday 21 September.
After Saturday 21 September the full price of £40 will apply.
Bookings close on Sunday 6 October.
The ticket price includes everything but the parking charge (which can be paid by cash, card or RingGo) - the tours of the gallops and National Stud, entrance to the National Horseracing museum, including the retraining of racehorses yard, and lunch with tea etc.
