Discover Lambeth Town Hall

Lambeth Town Hall was built in 1905 for the recently formed Metropolitan Borough, replacing the old Vestry Hall in Kennington. It remains an imposing presence at the geographical and cultural heart of the Borough alongside Windrush Square in Brixton. At a time when many Councils are moving to new buildings, better fitted to a technological age, Lambeth Council took the bold decision to undertake a £25 million refurbishment, which aimed to restore the most important heritage features of the building whilst adapting the interior to modern ways of working. The results are impressive, and on this tour, Lambeth Tour Guides will take you through the building's birth and regeneration, recounting some of the colourful events that have happened along the way.
