We have decided to switch the Indigo Vat from tomorrow, July 18 to Saturday September 18 during The Taste of Walkerville.
We'll still be here though. The asil shop and studio (with a special guest artist!) will be open and we'd love to see you if things are clearing up. Stay safe everyone!
Saturday September 12, 2026 between 1 and 4pm
Part of the Taste of Walkerville!
In this fun, drop-in session you are invited to bring along *one textile item such as a t-shirt, shawl, scarf, light summer top or tea towel to dip in our indigo pot at $10 per item.
Please bring silk or any cellulose fibres: cotton, linen, ramie or hemp. Synthetic fibres will not take indigo. To obtain good results, your pieces must have been washed in hot water and dried without any use of fabric softener.
Fabric takes dye best when it is wet. If possible, soak your pieces for at least 15 minutes prior to the workshop and bring them wet.
We will have bandanas on hand for purchase at $5.00 per bandana for extra dye options.
Registration is required. *You are welcome to bring additional pieces for the indigo pot at a charge of $10.00 per item. Please indicate the number of items you are bringing by adding each separate item to your registration form. For example: if you are bringing three items you will change the registration amount to 3 and pay $30.00.
