About this Event

Please carefully read the information below before registering!

Due to the alarming increase in COVID cases in January and our desire to preserve the in-person dynamic for discussion and fellowship over meals, we have prayerfully decided to postpone Disciple Makers Network: Going on Missions to the fourth quarter. We appreciate your understanding as we try to love and serve our communities well.

PURPOSE

This pilot workshop series is open to those who have gone on missions and would like to take others with them, and designed to help them equip, empower, and encourage others with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective overseas mission efforts.

PRESENTERS

  • Corey Grinder, D.Miss. left the Honolulu Fire Department for vocational ministry after nine years as a firefighter and instructor in several first aid, rescue, and fire service subjects. He lived overseas for eighteen years and has more than thirty years of experience in training, leading, and hosting short-term mission teams, and teaching, mentoring, overseeing, and caring for long-term missionaries and indigenous leaders on every continent.
  • Kailie Grinder had led mission teams to Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, South Korea, and Taiwan by the age of twenty-one. Born and raised an “MK” overseas, her field responsibilities have included children’s ministry, mentoring, programming, teaching, and translation. She has a B.A. in Design, Economics, and Business, an M.A. in Transformational Leadership, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Intercultural Studies at Fuller Seminary.
  • Charlie F. Mixon, Jr. went to Vanuatu and the Dominican Republic on short-term missions before being led to focus on Kenya from 2010-2018. His leadership of ten teams as builder and disciple-maker resulted in sustainable farming, thirty MiniChurches, and seven church plants in Kenya. After many years of service in the military and in ministry, he is about to begin his fourth career in “off-the-grid” community development.
  • Mersa Oca-Mixon led the planning and preparation for ten mission teams to Kenya from 2010-2018. Her passion for God and people inspired her learning of their local Dholuo dialect. She is great at organizing people, tasks, and events in addition to her valuable skillset as a Registered Nurse. She continues to be amazed by what God does with her “five loaves and two fish” when they are offered in faith.
