Learn how to keep your horses safe in emergencies at our Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Horse Owners!
Rachel Ibarra, executive director and founder of Nature Speaks, Inc. is hosting this disaster preparedness workshop for horse owners. A seasoned first responder for animals, Ibarra served on the HSUS Disaster Response Team for 10 years, is a former law enforcement officer from Ossining, NY and is the Palm Beach County Director for Florida Equine Disaster Response. Having experienced countless hurricanes, flooding events and earthquakes, Ibarra has been responding to disaster situations for 25 years including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ian and many more. At this workshop you will learn how to prepare your facility and horses in advance of a hurricane and prepare your facility for fire management. She will also discuss preparing your horses for evacuation and determining the proper timing and information necessary for evacuation.
