Do you like 'Dirty Dancing'...?This is a free dance class for beginners wanting to know how to dance any dance to any music with any partner.
Hi, everyone! I'm L-Jay and I'm in Barcelona for a month. I thought it would be fun to get a group together to teach them the foundations of social dance. I've been teaching dance professionally for over twenty years - I'm a retired pro and choreographer (Modern/Jazz/ Physical Theatre), and have taught the 'Dirty Dancing' style for longer (trained at the original AM studios).
The Dirty Dancing style is rather a philosophy essentially modernising standard dances to your own personal style and music tastes. The learning gives you the foundation of all dances – the elements, footwork, lead/follow, and steps that are in every dance – so you can dance any dance, to any music, with any partner.
This is NOT a Bachata, Salsa, Tango or Lindy Hop class but a class to become a dancer of everything. I will also introduce other dance rhythms that clubs don't teach so you can learn to dance to lots of other styles of music too – Jazz, Rock, Soul, R&B, Disco, Bossa Nova, Samba... etc.

***It would be great if you can confirm if you are going - under 30 people is good as I don't have a mic for teaching.
If you have any questions, just ask and I will answer them in the feed so everyone can have the intel.
Note - this event came about because of interest from the Barcelona Expat Free Activities
