Directed by Her : Script Sessions in Collaboration with Ashanti Artwell

As part of Directed by Her 2026, The GALPAL Collective are excited to be collaborating with Ashanti Wheeler Artwell for The Script Sessions workshop. This workshop will be dedicated to the art of the screenplay, with joint reading and dissection of the screenplay and cult classic Clueless written by Amy Heckerling.

This edition of Script Sessions is exclusively for the Black and POC FLINTA* comunity and Black and POC women who have an interest in film, storytelling or the arts. We want this to encourage more of the Black and POC FLINTA community and women to tell their own stories with a further understanding of structure, character motivation and simply the pure joy of cinema. Facilitator Ashanti Artwell is truly a dynamic storyteller working across poetry, theatre, and film.

Set in the cosy upstairs Loft at The Fumbally, this script reading session offers a relaxed, intimate space to gather, listen, and share. With a small group and an easy, welcoming vibe, it’s an evening for thoughtful conversation and creative exchange.
