What is DIPTEP?
The Dervish in Progress Teacher Education Program (DIPTEP) is a one-of-a-kind, two-year training designed by world-renowned artist Ziya Azazi. Combining the essence of Sufi whirling with modern artistic and educational approaches, DIPTEP offers a profound journey of self-transformation and teaching mastery. Since its inception in 2018, the program has cultivated a global network of practitioners and instructors who are reimagining whirling as a contemporary discipline for life and art.
Formation – Year 2: Mastery and Leadership
Take your journey to the next level with the Formation program, starting in August 2025. This second year is dedicated to those who are ready to become certified DIP instructors and lead others through the transformative art of whirling. Focus on:
• Advanced mastery of whirling techniques and principles.
• Building your leadership skills to guide and inspire others.
• Creating impactful, transformative experiences for participants.
• Achieving your certification as a DIP instructor, equipped to share your knowledge and practice.
Formation is where the journey deepens and broadens. It’s about transforming your personal practice into a gift you can share with the world while continuing to grow and evolve as a whirling artist.

The Formation program begins at the inspiring Toplocentrala venue in Sofia, Bulgaria, with subsequent modules in December 2025 and Spring 2026, culminating in exams and certifications.
