Get into the holiday spirit - without the waste! Join the Creston Neighborhood Association along with partners Public Thread and the City of Grand Rapids Office of Sustainability for a hands-on workshop dedicated to creative, eco-friendly ways to give this season. Explore ways to reduce your environmental impact through thoughtful, sustainable gift giving choices.
What to Expect:
·Upcycled Gift Project: turn everyday materials into a unique, handcrafted gift
·Reusable Gift Wrapping Demo: discover ideas for wrapping gifts with reusable materials that save resources and add a personal touch
·Mending Station: bring your items that need a little TLC and learn basic repair techniques to give them new life.
·Holiday Decor Swap: refresh your seasonal decorations sustainably by trading gently used items with others.
Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring mending supplies or a project if you would like!
Event Schedule:
·5:30 PM – Dinner served (free with RSVP, space limited to 50 guests)
·5:30-8:30 PM – Workshop style stations will be open for guests to move between to learn and work on projects
