Dinner with a Curator: “Illustrating Freedom: Norman Rockwell and the American Ideal”

Among painter Norman Rockwell’s best-known works is his iconic Four Freedoms series, inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s landmark address on fundamental human rights. Rockwell powerfully and memorably depicted these universal freedoms through his lens into everyday American life. As we mark the United States’ 250th anniversary this year, join Museum Associate Vice President of Education Chrissy Gregg to explore both recognizable and lesser-known works of one of the most popular American artists of the 20th century, as well as the enduring appeal and critical reception of Rockwell’s art throughout his career.
Dinner with a Curator is an evening of dinner and history hosted by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar culinary team and Museum professionals. Guests participate in discussion on a featured topic related to World War II, which is interpreted through the Museum's collection and a theme-inspired three-course dinner paired with beverage specials.
