As rich and vast the history of Delhi is so is its literary background. From being one of the backdrops of the longest known epic poem in the world 'Mahabharat' to nurturing the khadi boli of Khusro and dohe of Rahim... to being the cradle of Urdu poetry right from Delhi Sultanate till Mughal empire Dilli has seen it all amidst the rise and fall of empires. The city with all its turbulent times provided a fertile ground for cultural flora to grow and spread.. The poets loved the city with much fervor and well the city loved its poets back and made them immortal.
Many of these poets not only made Delhi their home but also their final abode giving Delhi some of its finest tombs and an enduring cultural legacy.
So lets take a dip in this 'Dariyaa-e-Sukhan' and travel across the pages of Delhi's history with its beloved poets. In the peace and quite of the 16th century tomb of Abdul Rahim Khan i Khanan.
For an evening baithak tracing the journey of Delhi through it's poets.
