About this Event

About this Event:

Workforce Development at Sinclair College is leading the investigation into the workforce of tomorrow by weaving Industry 4.0 standards into the region’s manufacturing and supply chain capabilities. In pursuit of Digital Transformation among the defense industrial base, the Digital Thread Initiative is supported by a subcontract awarded to Sinclair College as part of the Regional Fabrication and Certification Training Labs enterprise. Sinclair's Digital Thread Initiative team will provide an overview of the program’s objectives to promote data literacy education in the current and future workforce, develop smart manufacturing training programs for students and employers, and enable small and medium-sized manufacturers to transition to a digital manufacturing environment rapidly and successfully.

In 1887, David A. Sinclair’s vision for training and education was to “Find the need and endeavor to meet it.” We continue this tradition today. Join us to learn about an opportunity for your organization to engage with Sinclair Workforce Development and Wright Brothers Institute as a part of this transformative project.

This will be a Hybrid Collider – In-Person, at WBI – 444 E 2nd St, Dayton, OH 45420 and Virtual – you choose at Eventbrite registration.

Digital Thread Initiative Overview:

We are in the midst of the fourth industrial revolution, marked by the blurring of the boundary between the physical and digital worlds. Transformation is at the forefront of conversations in business, but the definition of Industry 4.0 varies and how to implement the associated pillars is a highly individualized decision. Enabling this revolution is the Digital Thread, a concept first appearing in 2007 and now key to empowering the dynamic demands of manufacturing in the supply chain of the defense industrial base. This technological framework helps organize data across the life span of a product – design, fabrication, inspection, logistics, maintenance, and disposal - interconnecting data to enable better decisions.
