About this Event

What is it?

Digital Skills 4 Girls is a monthly workshop for girls and non-binary young people aged 10 - 17 who want to learn new digital skills or develop existing skills. From coding and gaming to digital design and video, DS4G is a friendly and supportive environment to learn new skills and meet new friends.

What will I learn?

In this workshop, we'll create playful machine learning models using Teachable Machine, a web-based tool that makes AI accessible and easy to use. Working individually or in groups, we'll explore how to train a machine by capturing video and images of ourselves in real time. This process allows us to experiment firsthand with how data shapes technology.

Everyone has total creative freedom to decide what their model identifies, whether that involves distinguishing between dance moves, interpreting sign language, or recognizing specific poses. It will be an energetic, hands-on session where we can experiment with our training data and see our ideas come to life through a working machine learning model.

Host: Claire

This session runs at the same time as Prewired, a coding club for under 19s.
