Digital Skills 4 Girls Edinburgh: 3-Shot Continuity Editing

Digital Skills 4 Girls is a monthly workshop for girls and non-binary young people aged 10 - 17 who want to learn new digital skills or develop existing skills. From coding and gaming to digital design and video, DS4G is a friendly and supportive environment to learn new skills and meet new friends.

In this workshop, we'll work individually or in groups to plan and film a short scene using three different camera setups. We'll then edit the footage into a sequence of up to 30 seconds, using at least 10 cuts to ensure a smooth, professional flow between our three shots. We'll have total creative freedom over the content of our scenes as we focus on the technical discipline of maintaining continuity.experiment with our training data and see our ideas come to life through a working machine learning model.

This session runs at the same time as Prewired, a coding club for under 19s.

Digital Skills 4 Girls will be on the Wednesday 17th June from 5.30-7pm. The event will take place at CodeBase Edinburgh, 37a Castle Terrace, Edinburgh, EH1 2EL. The venue is step-free, with an accessible toilet available.

These monthly sessions are facilitated by Claire Wheelan, Education Programme Manager here at CodeBase.

We ask everyone to sign up individually, so we can have an estimate of how many people want to attend, this will allow us to prevent food waste by avoiding over-catering. Please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend. We will also check-in each person on Eventbrite as they join the event so make sure you've signed up to the event in order to attend! We also encourage everyone to sign up individually so we know of any accessibility requirements in advance. Tickets are very limited so be sure to register!
