Digital Eden: When Hell Froze Over - Solo Exhibit by JB Nearsy
Join us on Saturday October 10th for a solo exhibit by artist JB Nearsy.
This is an apocalypse art show. All of the pieces are related to the final tragic demise of the earth as we know it, if that ever happens. So to show that, the individual works I’ve done relate to parts of collective humanity that have gone wrong over the years, not our brightest moments. I decided to include paintings of the man who dropped the atomic bombs, Adam or Eve interchangeably with a serpent, a visual representation of diaspora, one or two about sex, the final moments in Eden before the sun burns out forever, and a view from the edge of what might be the pit of hell on the celestial body of Pluto.
I for one have faith in eventual utopia and mass transcendence. God and mother earth are perfect. People make mistakes but that’s what we’re here for, to learn from our mistakes.
