About this Event
The course "Digital Design" focuses on utilizing digital design as a strategic tool for promoting businesses, events, and causes, and effectively communicating messages through art and design. Software tools discussed are Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Students at a minimum should create a free Canva account but may opt for a premium account and/or an Adobe account.
The course covers various aspects of graphic design, including color theory, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy. Students will learn how to create visually appealing and engaging digital content while understanding the principles of branding and marketing.
Emphasis is placed on using digital design to promote businesses, helping students develop skills in creating engaging social media graphics, website visuals, and digital advertising materials. Additionally, the course delves into leveraging design to promote events, understanding how to craft visually compelling event promotions and marketing collateral.
A hands-on approach allows students to apply their skills in a practical setting, gaining valuable experience in using digital design as a powerful communication tool.
By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to strategically use digital design to promote businesses, events, and causes, and to effectively convey messages through art and design in the digital landscape.
Computers are provided. However, per the new Adobe Licensing Policies, you must purchase your license/login to use in the class.
Class Instructor will be Michael Chessnoe.
