Do you have areas in your garden that don't have modern watering systems, yet you want to plant annuals and perennials there? Are you tired of spending so much to water your garden? This class will help you apply ancient and modern techniques, such as ollas and wicking, to bring water to your gardens and landscapes without using traditional flood or drip irrigation. During the class, you will also make your own olla to take home and use in your garden (included in your ticket fee)!
You will:
-Identify and define ollas and several alternative watering systems.
-Describe the pros and cons of using these systems.
-Examine ways you can apply ollas and other alternative watering systems to your landscape.
-Create your own olla to use in your landscape.
-Understand how to install, use and maintain an olla in your landscape.
